A resident of Knoxville, TN, Coach Diogo Silvy is originally from Brazil. He is experienced in Brazilian style coaching and playing. While playing for the Railsplitters at Lincoln Memorial University Coach D was named an ESPN Magazine Academic All-American. Coach Silvy was also named to the First Team Daktronics All-Appalachian Region in 2006. Silvy, a four-year starter for the Railsplitters earned all-region honors for two consecutive years. His contributions over four years of play at Lincoln Memorial University helped the Railsplitters achieve a Gulf South Conference regular season in 2004, a GSC tournament championship in 2005, an Appalachian Region Championship in 2006 and a win in the NCAA Division II Elite 8 over Northern Kentucky University. This last win earned his team a spot in the NCAA Division II Final Four. He was a part of NCAA First Team All American. He has also been recognized as LMU’s Athlete of the Year.
Coach D has also played and coached semi-professional soccer with the Colorado Rapids. As the head coach with Novo Brazil he helped the boy’s soccer team win their first Premier League Divisional Championship in fall 2007.
